Engineering Case Study
We were engaged by a new customer to manufacture a set of components to act as clips which are used as fixings in the engineering industry.
Original designs were supplied, which, after discussion with the customer were modified, in house at TVP, to make them more plastic friendly whilst still meeting the required technical specification
Advice was given as regards a suitable material which would meet the rigorous in service demands of the application when used in engineering.
The agreed plastic friendly design was used to manufacture rapid prototypes, which were then used to check dimensions and ensure the fit and function of the components. The CAD models were subject to several minor modifications to refine the design until a perfect fit was established.
Tooling was then procured by TVP, on the customers behalf, and manufactured at a partner toolmaking company. First off sample parts were followed which were dimensionally checked and approved.
The project was managed throughout by TVP, on behalf of the customer whilst ensuring their input was sought at key stages. This ensured the original brief was met in a timely and cost effective manner.
These components are now fully approved for production in engineering.
